Karazhan at 12/13; only Netherspite remains
|
I've been somewhat remiss at updating the front-page news, so here's an update on our Karazhan progress:
- Prince Malchezzar has been killed 3 times now.
- Nightbane has been killed 2 times (our first kill was on 01/04/08).
- After two Big Bad Wolf kills...
- Followed by three Romulo & Julianne kills...
- We finally saw (and one-shotted) the elusive third variant, Wizard of Oz.
The only Karazhan boss that we haven't yet downed is Netherspite - time to get cracking on him! |

Big steps in Karazhan
|
Our first forays into Karazhan were fairly limited - we'd downed Attumen, Maiden and Moroes, but never more than two of them in the same week due to shortages of tanks, healers, and indeed just players in general.
With a huge wave of attunements and a recruitment drive (thanks mainly to Sekrel), the Karazhan-ready roster now looks a lot healthier. This week, things have finally clicked, and we've stormed deep into Karazhan:
- Attumen, Moroes and Maiden all downed again
- Big Bad Wolf killed at the first attempt
- Curator killed at the first attempt
- Shade of Aran killed at the third attempt
- Terestian Illhoof killed at the first attempt
- Chess Event completed at the first attempt
The guild's first piece of Tier 4 loot went to Canthus, who exchanged his token for Handwraps of the Incarnate. Particular congratulations to him!
In the space of a single reset we've gone from 3/11 in Kara to 8/11 in Kara (or 3/13 to 8/13 if you include all three Opera variants). Only Netherspite, Nightbane and Prince Malchezzar remain (as well as the other two Opera variants which haven't been seen yet).
Big steps indeed! |

Maiden down!
|
Having downed Attumen, and not having an offtank for it to be worth trying Moroes, we headed over to Maiden. We haven't downed her before, weren't entirely sure whether we'd manage it tonight with just one specc'd healer in the group, but we convinced Huagh to heal alongside Dakk and put Gjara and Mancpriest on dispelling/healing duty, and thought we might as well give it a go.
WE DID IT! We got her down to about 10% and from then I was counting it down on Teamspeak ("Five percent! FOUR PERCENT!") and it was good to finally kill her given how much we've struggled on her in the past.
Well done to Adrieth, Dakk, Daspien, Davegotsu, Gjara, Grarl, Huagh, Mancpriest, Sekrel, and Rinusch.
Tonight's Attumen loot:
Steelhawk Crossbow - went to Rinusch
Gloves of Saintly Blessings - went to Mancpriest
Tonight's Maiden loot:
Barbed Choker of Discipline - went to Adrieth
Shard of the Virtuous - went to Dakk
Plus:
Pattern: Soulcloth Vest - went to Gjara
And the Maiden killshot:

Moroes down!
|
After the pain of our 1% wipe on our most recent raidnight, we headed back to get revenge on Moroes. After a couple of wipes ER I MEAN PRACTICE RUNS everything finally clicked, and at the third attempt we took him down without a single death.
Well done to Adrieth, Dakk, Davegotsu, Grarl, Mowbray, Lekgolo, Nevevarine, Stillwaters, Xithyl, and our special non-guild guest star Ressha, without whom this guild-first Moroes kill would not have happened.
Loot was:
Idol of the Avian Heart - went to Mowbray
Edgewalker Longboots - disenchanted
Oh and the Attumen loot earlier this week was:
Gloves of Saintly Blessings - went to Dakk
Whirlwind Bracers - disenchanted
If you're thinking we haven't had the best of luck on loot for our first week in Karazhan, well you're probably right!
Aaaaaaand the Moroes killshot:
